All about the data and what it is showing
Hi hi! So I updated the graph! Still gonna update it most likely until I am fully happy with it lol.

Tbh all I did was add a little caption, a title with a subtitle, and I changed the colors of the names. A friend brought up that the nodes are in different spots–remember that the node is the person (refer to this post)–this is due to the igraph package in R.
Idk about you, but when I was younger adults would say “don’t trust what you read on the internet.” Crazy. Because now they are the same people that believe everything on the internet lol. So it is super important for me to be transparent about how I got ahold of this data.
Finding the Data
So right, I had this wonderful idea to look at the relationships between AOMG music artist (this is important because on AOMG/artist page they have Korean Zombie and KIAN84 listed and they, from my understanding is a martial artist and a webtoons creator, respectively). So I went 👀looking, at first I was just going to count ONLY the ones with AOMG, and I was trying to figure out how on earth I would do that. I was afraid of duplicating songs and no where could I find where to download this information. SO! I took it upon myself to TYPE out the song, artist, and who is featured 😭 only for the ones in AOMG, and then I used R to do all the counting and stuff. The thing is, I only counted songs where the artist was listed as first and I did not include instrumental versions. So I currently have an excel of the AOMG artist current discography as of April 9, 2025. This dataset will be constantly updated by me, maybe I will upload it one day.
About the Data
So here is where I would tell you a bunch of information. That is, how connected this graph is, the one with the highest degree, who has the most features, who is featured the most, etc. just information that is kinda face value. So from the graph, we can see that Coogie is featured the most, in fact he has 7 arrows pointing to him. That is, Simon Dominic, Loco, Yugyeom, punchnello, ELO, DeVita, and DJ Wejun all feature Coogie in one of their songs. We can also see that Jvcki Wai does not feature any of the artist in AOMG in her music, BUT she is featured on one of Simon Dominic songs and three of Coogie’s songs. We can also see that Loco collaborates the most, he features 6 artists on his songs: Hoody, punchnello, ELO, Ugly Duck, Coogie, and DJ Wejun.
We can also look at the size of the nodes. The size of the nodes are proportional to the total number of songs that are in their discography where they are listed as the first artist on Spotify as of April 9, 2025 (this list also does not contain the instrumental versions of their songs if it was listed as instrumental). So by just looking at the graph we can see that Coogie, Loco, and Hoody have the most songs in their discography and Ugly Duck has the least amount of songs released on Spotify. I can also show that information in a table or bar chart. Since the point of this blog is to show visualizations, the bar chart below displays the number of songs each artist has currently released (as of April 9, 2025)

So now, we can visually see the size of each node, or how many songs each artist contains. This should naturally lead us to start asking questions.
The Questions
So now that we looked at the data a bit, we can see what information we want to find out! Not necessarily in that order, but it is fun being able to explore the data a little and so many questions came up!
So, as I was writing out the discography, I started thinking about well when did these artists debut? When was each song released essentially (this would be difficult only because some songs are in albums and in solo and sometimes not in the same year .-.) ALSO! when did the artist join AOMG, cause I know for a FACT that Yugyeom is part of GOT7, and GOT7 does not belong to AOMG lol. So then we know that Coogie is featured on 7 songs, which we could say that Coogie is influential to AOMG and its artists, but we could also say that Loco is the most influential to AOMG since he works with more artists since Coogie has only featured 2 artists.
Wow, I really do be starting paragraphs with the word ‘so’ lol. Anyways, now that we learned a little bit about the data the next part is do some sort of analysis and writing out the results. The analysis usually answers questions we are asking, and is a lot of technical work so when reporting it out to people we usually just talk about how we do/did the analysis and give out the results. But that is for next time ♥️
