Another network :D
So, I don’t know if you noticed, but for my AOMG project I did not include YUGYEOM’s connections with GOT7! GOT7 is a kpop boy band that debuted under JYP on January 16th, 2014. The group consists of JayB, Jinyoung, Mark Tuan, Youngjae, Jackson Wang, Bambam, and YUGYEOM.
A quick note before I continue, I did not include multiple versions of the same song (like the 4 other versions of Lullaby – Chinese, English, Spanish and the instrumental) UNLESS another artist was featured on that song. Additionally, if the song is on multiple albums, it was only counted once and for data collection purposes, was placed in the first album it was released on with the earliest time stamp.
GOT7
As stated GOT7 includes 7 members: Jay B, Jinyoung, Mark Tuan, YOUNGJAE, Jackson Wang, BamBam, and YUGYEOM. They have two official subunits: Jus2 (JayB and YUGYEOM) and JJ Project (Jay B and Jinyoung).
Some very quick highlights:
- Jinyoung is also an actor and recently performed as Lee Ho-Su in Our Unwritten Seoul.
- YUGYEOM has enlisted in the Korean military and Youngjae will be enlisting soon.
- Jackson Wang from China (iykyk) literally does everything! Fun fact prior to training to be an idol, he received a full ride to Stanford for fencing and was asked to participate in the London Olympics (Source). He also runs his own company, Team Wang, where he releases his music and has his own fashion brand.
- Jay B also released music under the pseudonym Def.
- Mark Tuan is from America, and just recently released his new EP and should be releasing a full album soon.
- BamBam is from Thailand and performed at the Vatican during the “Grace for the World” concert on September 13, 2025.
Discography
As solos and as a group, GOT7 has many songs under them. Table 1 summarizes the number of songs where each member is the first artist and songs they were featured on.
| Artist | # Songs as First Artist | # Songs Featured On | Total Discography |
|---|---|---|---|
| GOT7 | 176 | 0 | 176 |
| JJ Project | 8 | 0 | 8 |
| Jus2 | 14 | 0 | 14 |
| Jay B * | 50 | 25 | 75 |
| Jinyoung | 14 | 5 | 19 |
| Mark Tuan | 38 | 5 | 43 |
| YOUNGJAE | 41 | 8 | 49 |
| Jackson Wang | 76 | 33 | 109 |
| BamBam | 40 | 8 | 48 |
| YUGYEOM | 40 | 5 | 45 |
Table 1. GOT7’s discography totals, taken from Spotify, as of November 11, 2025. (Jay B released 13 songs under the pseudonym Def. and he was featured under 7 songs) The featured songs include songs where within GOT7 they were featured together in unofficial subunits.
The following image shows the proportion of songs for each member. It depicts that the vast majority of their discography belongs with their group GOT7. However, it can be see that Jackson Wang appears as a featured artist more than the rest of GOT7, followed by Jay B. He also has the most solo work out there (solo indicating when he is the first artist no matter if others were featured on those tracks). It is also seen that Jinyoung has the least amount of Solo work, potentially attributing to that he has moved more towards acting recently.

The following table looks at the number of artists GOT7 members have featured on their songs and how many artists where they (GOT7 members) are featured. It is shown that Jackson Wang would considerably have the largest network, and the most connections. Also note, that YUGYEOM’s is different from the AOMG project since this one takes into account his work with GOT7 and includes others outside the group and AOMG.
| Artist | # Artist Featured | # Artists Featured On |
|---|---|---|
| Jackson Wang | 20 | 29 |
| Jay B | 8 | 20 |
| BamBam | 8 | 4 |
| YOUNGJAE | 3 | 3 |
| Mark Tuan | 3 | 2 |
| Jinyoung | 0 | 2 |
| YUGYEOM | 12 | 1 |
Table 2. These counts exclude GOT7 members if they were featured on a track with each other.
The Network
So before I show the network, let’s talk about some metrics. From Table 2, we saw that Jackson Wang works with plenty of artists, in fact, he has featured at least 20 artists in his music and is featured on 29 artists tracks. Jinyoung has worked with the least amount of artists, having featured no one but is featured on at least two artists songs.
Table 3 shows the Betweenness, Closeness Out/In measures. These values determine how connected a network is and tells us how the network is bridged together.
| Artist | Betweenness | Closeness Out | Closeness In |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jackson Wang | 0.1286 | 1.0305 | 1.1548 |
| Jay B | 0.0733 | 1.0283 | 1.1543 |
| BamBam | 0.0354 | 1.0286 | 1.1521 |
| YUGYEOM | 0.0248 | 1.0286 | 1.1519 |
| Mark Tuan | 0.0162 | 1.028 | 1.1519 |
| YOUNGJAE | 0.013 | 1.0279 | 1.152 |
| Jinyoung | 0.0039 | 1.0277 | 1.152 |
Table 3. Centrality metrics for GOT7 members, ranked from highest to lowest.
Betweenness. This indicates how often a member connects other artists who might not usually collaborate. From Table 3, Jackson Wang has the highest level of betweenness suggesting that he serves as a main bridge in the network. Whereas Jinyoung has the lowest level indicating that he does not play a significant bridging role.
Closeness Out/In. Closeness is measured in two directions: out and in. Closeness out indicates how quickly a member can reach other artists, where as closeness in indicates how quickly a member can be reached by others. All members have closeness values between 1.02 – 1.03(out) and around 1.15(in) suggesting that the network is tightly connected.
Overall, Jackson Wang serves as the primary connector in the collaboration network, exhibiting both strong outgoing reach and strong incoming connections. Jay B follows closely behind. The remaining members play more of a moderate or smaller bridging role, yet they remain well-connected and easily reachable within the network.
Community Detection
A topic I haven’t covered yet, is community detection. In short terms, community detection identifies groups in a network that are more densely connected to each other than to the rest of the network. In this case, applying the Louvain algorithm, 16 communities, with modularity of 0.024, were found. This low modularity suggests that collaborations are spread across many artists rather than being tightly clustered. (Trust, a post about community detection will be coming at a later date)
Since the focus is on GOT7, I adapted the network to highlight seven communities, one for each member. Allowing us to see how each member connects with others and acts as a bridge with in the network. For example, Jackson Wang’s community is extensive, reflecting his many collaborations, whereas Jinyoung has the least amount of collaborations.
Combining community detection with network metrics (like betweenness and closeness), it is easier to understand who connects whom, and how quickly information can spread through these networks. It becomes clear that within GOT7, Jackson Wang is the most central connector followed by Jay B.
The following interactive network highlights each member’s reach and centrality within the collaboration graph. Notice that some nodes belong to a specific community but are shared between members. When exploring the visualization, you can click on any artists to view their direct collaborators, hover over individual nodes to see their degree (the number of connections they have) and the artist’s name, and hover over edges to view the total number of shared songs. The dropdown box highlights each GOT7’s ego-network. For simplicity, the network is displayed as an undirected graph, making it easier to visualize collaboration patterns between GOT7 members and other artists.

Conclusion
This post focused solely on the musical collaborations of GOT7 members. By examining network metrics such as betweenness and closeness, we can see which artists act as key connectors within the collaboration landscape. Jackson Wang and Jay B emerge as the strongest bridges in the network, linking the greatest number of artists both directly and indirectly. It is important to note that this network reflects only music-based relationships found on Spotify; the members’ careers extend far beyond this. As Jinyoung continues acting, Jackson expands his global brand, and others take on new creative projects, their networks will evolve. A future analysis that includes acting roles, interviews, and non-musical collaborations would likely reveal an even larger network, highlighting their influence both within and beyond the world of K-pop.
With love,
Josefina <3
