Hortencia Josefina Hernandez, Ph.D.

Data Scientist | Statistician | Musician | Creator

¡Holis! I am Josefina <3–but Dr. Hernandez kinda has a nice ring to it.

The main purpose of this blog is to document my personal projects with a focus on social network models in various fields. My main research interests include graph theory and synthetic data generation, in regards to longitudinal and social network data.

I have a deep passion for learning, and love exploring how mathematical and statistical concepts can be applied to the real-world.

Beyond the technical world, I have performed in my university’s mariachi group and flute choir. 🎶 I have been playing violin for about 19 years and flute for almost 11 years now — music has made such a huge impact on my life. (Check out My SoundCloud :D )
